Asclera Treatment for Spider Veins
Spider veins can often make it difficult to feel fully confident. While spider veins are incredibly common, they can make many women feel self-conscious about wearing clothing that might put them on display. Spider veins can occur for any number of reasons the most common being injury/excessive exercise, hormonal changes, pregnancy, and age.
If your spider veins make it difficult for you to feel confident about your appearance, it’s time to discover Asclera injections. This FDA-cleared procedure uses a special salt-water solution to irritate the spider vein; this irritation causes the spider vein to close in on itself. Over time, the closed vein is absorbed back into the body, leaving behind smooth and flawless skin.
Asclera injections for spider veins are now available at MD Cosmedx Laser and Wellness Center in Bowling Green, KY.
What Happens During the Treatment?
Asclera injections are simple to administer and carry little-to-no side effects. The procedure – which typically takes about an hour, depending on the number of spider veins being treated – occurs right in our offices.
During the treatment, the saline solution is injected into the spider veins to prompt immediate irritation. Some patients may experience a minor burning sensation, which is a sign that the vein is preparing to close itself in response to the irritation.
Most patients will need several treatments for ideal results; the final number of treatments you may need will be determined by your MD Cosmedx Laser and Wellness Center technician. Final results can typically be seen within six months to a year after the final treatment.
Does the Treatment Hurt?
Asclera injections aren’t painful; however, many patients report feeling a slight discomfort during the initial stage of the treatment. This feeling typically resolves itself a few days after the treatment. If you’re worried about pain associated with injections, your MD Cosmedx Laser and Wellness Center technician can apply ice and numbing cream to the treatment site.
Is There Any Downtime?
There is no downtime associated with Asclera injections for spider veins. However, it’s recommended that you avoid intense exercise immediately after the treatment.
