Laser Hair Removal
Looking for smooth, hair-free skin that doesn’t require constant maintenance or upkeep? Then it’s time to discover laser hair removal at MD Cosmedx Laser and Wellness Center in Bowling Green, KY!
Laser hair removal is a safe and effective treatment designed to help remove excess hair while reducing follicle regrowth. A fine beam of laser energy is directed toward the excess hair and absorbed by the pigment in the follicle. This absorption kills the hair follicle, prompting it to fall out at the root. Most clients need 6 to 8 sessions before seeing an end to hair regrowth.
Laser hair removal is ideal for the following areas:
What Happens During the Treatment?
At MD Cosmedx Laser and Wellness Center, we use the Alma Harmony XL Pro laser, which combines two gold standard wavelengths to target hair follicles. Before your treatment, it’s recommended that you avoid sun exposure and caffeinated beverages. On the day before your treatment, you should use a new razor to shave the area that’s being treated.
The procedure itself is fast and virtually painless. Sessions can take anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour, depending on the treatment area.
After your treatment, you’ll be instructed to avoid exposure to sunlight. You may also want to ice the treatment area to reduce swelling and redness. Your hair follicles should fall out a few days after the procedure.
Does The Treatment Hurt?
The treatment is surprisingly comfortable; most patients report feeling a mild heating sensation. The Alma Harmony XL Pro laser uses a cooling handpiece to help manage any discomfort associated with the heat.
Is There Any Downtime?
There is no downtime associated with laser hair removal; patients can return to their normal routines immediately after the treatment. Side effects can include redness and swelling at the treatment site.
